In the early 90’s Dr. Mark F. Scott founded Webster Square Vision Center, working alongside his brother Brendan. For three decades Dr. Scott worked tirelessly to serve his community with honor and accuracy, rarely taking a break for lunch, or a Saturday off.
Accommodating and affordable are an understatement when it comes to describing the practice that Dr. Scott built, he was truly a man of the people. As the years passed there was a sense of responsibility that lead Mark to search of a worthy successor of his frequented practice.
In October of 2024 Dr. Velazquez and his son Daniel Velazquez re-opened Webster Square Vision Center after it’s 30+ years in business. Dr. Velazquez completed his Bachelor’s of Science and received his Doctorate in Optometry from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. Working as an Optician and Lab Manager in his early career, he is proficient in all things optical, and has been practicing Optometry for 33 years. He and his family moved to the United States from Puerto Rico when he was 4 years old, and around age 12 they settled here in Worcester, MA. Dr. Velazquez has two sons Martin Velazquez and Daniel Velazquez, as well as two grandsons Logan Donatello Velazquez and Nicolas Luciano Velazquez. In his free time he enjoys spending time with grandchildren, playing billiards (he’s really good!), and taking walks on the beach.
In April of 2024 Daniel Velazquez was formally introduced to Dr. Mark F. Scott by his father Ferdinand Velazquez. Initially, under the impression Dr. Scott was looking for someone to hire to help him run his private practice. After a few conversations it became apparent that Dr. Scott was intending to retire, and looking to sell his business to someone capable, eager, and trustworthy. After much deliberation the two came to an agreement, and at the ripe age of 32, Daniel and his father became the proud new owners of Wester Square Vision Center. Daniel is formally trained in Information Technology, and has always had a knack for sales and customer service. Born and raised in Worcester, MA he has proven himself to be a staple in his community by contributing to the arts and culture of the city he knows and loves. Daniel Velazquez lives with his fiancée Cristina Marie Hernandez, and two sons, Logan and Nicolas Velazquez. To unwind he enjoys cooking new recipes for his family, chatting with friends on Discord, and working out at the local YMCA.
Daniela is the newest addition to the family joining us in 2026! Native to Puerto Rico, Daniela recently moved to Worcester this past November and was welcomed by a true New England winter! Her past experience working in a healthcare setting has allowed her a smooth transition into the office and her glowing presence is the first thing patients see!
When she’s not wishing she were back in the tropical paradise of our homeland, she enjoys watching anime and reading a cozy book. A true animal lover, Daniela housed over 7 pets back home in Caguas, PR. Her genuine care for others, and attention to detail has quickly made her an irreplaceable asset to our team.
